If you are looking for a new winter jacket, for general outdoor wear and some walking inside countryside (but not extreme conditions), there is a plenty of jackets to choose from. However, the prices can vary enormously, and it’s also not obvious what causes this specific variance.

Modern winter jackets are a marvel of technological know-how. They are made from light, although highly waterproof material which lets air circulate and keeps you dry, and not sweaty. The North Face Evolution Triclima is made from polyamide, which is waterproof, airy and easy to clean. It is also quite durable and lasts longer than various other waterproof, but breathable, fabric.
The jacket also uses a good hood. A lot of modern jackets have floppy hoods which usually fall down in front of your eyes and also obscure your vision. The North Confront Evolution Triclima does have a stiffened summit to the hood, but which is made to fold away as well, it’s not perfect. Yu may need to wear your hood over a cap with a stiff peak to get excellent visibility.

Note that North Face produce their fleece jackets together with the zips the opposite way round to other jackets. This means that Northern Face waterproof jackets are only able to be fitted with North Face fleeces and not those business brands.

To keep out of the wind a good winter jumper has to be made of wind-proof material. It should have well made and sealed seams. You need a cover for the front zip and you must be capable of tighten the cuffs.
The North Face Evolution Triclima is made from a polyamide materials that is windproof. The seams are specially sealed to keep out normal water and wind. The front zip has a special flap that can be installed with a Velcro fastener and it also has Velcro-adjustable cuffs.
It must feel comfortable
North Experience jackets are lightweight and therefore are cut into a nice design that makes them feel very secure. The collar has a blown inner lining that senses warm and comfortable (Many water-resistant jackets don’t and feel cold on your neck).
It also has an adjustable waist group, so it can be adjusted to fit your figure.
It must have plenty of wallets
The North Face Evolution Triclima has a side pocket at the front (any Napoleon Pocket) for wallets, routes etc. It also has a couple lower pockets and an within pocket as well, so there may be plenty of room to keep every object close at hand and keep your hands cozy as well. The fleece cardigan has two hand pockets as well.
On the downside
The sole downside with North Experience jackets is that I had a single where the zip frequently have not first time: it always required a bit of fiddling to get it to fasten.
